Our turmeric is stone-ground from roots grown in the red-laterite soils of Kurunegala and Kegalle Districts. Ceylon turmeric is prized for its deep orange-yellow colour and elevated curcumin content - often exceeding 5%, compared to 2-3% in most commercial grades. The earthy, slightly bitter flavour is the foundation of Sri Lankan cuisine and Ayurvedic practice.
